For the marking of printed circuit boards is using more often, instead of a commonly used tampoprint, laser technology to allow better edibility, maintenance and no further material is needed. It is commonly used to mark type of QR code or Datamatrix where is possible to save a large amount of information. If you need to have a laser scanning code, you may also need to find a free space on the board (just 5x5mm in size) with copper under the solder mask. You can also use other laser technologies where the solder mask is not removed but chemically changed. It is better to test this technology before using with regard to the different composition of solder masks. Result of this marking is better tracking of printed circuit boards during operation (traceability).
